Standard calculations assume 8 ft ceilings. If your ceiling is higher, adjust:
Adjusted Room Size = (Room Sq Ft × Ceiling Height) / 8
Example: 300 sq ft with 10 ft ceiling: (300 × 10) / 8 = 375 sq ft equivalent
Step 3: Choose Target ACH
For general home use:
- Minimum: 4 ACH
- Ideal: 5 ACH
- Allergies / wildfire: 5–6 ACH

Step 4: Calculate Required CADR
Formula:
Required CADR (CFM) = (Room Volume in ft³ × Desired ACH) / 60
Example:
300 sq ft room, 8 ft ceiling
Volume = 2,400 ft³
Target ACH = 5
CADR = (2,400 × 5) / 60 = 200 CFM
